When Crime Occurs

If you see a crime in progress, call the police!

Only call 911 from a land line!

From a cell phone call 777-3211 which routes directly to OPD dispatch.

To report a crime that has already happened, call the non-emergency number 777-3333, or fill in OPD's Online Crime Reporting form.  You'll find the link on their Report a Crime page.

What Beat do I Live In?

To see a map of all of Oakland's police beats, check the Police District Locator.  Enter your address and the map will show what beat you're in.

To find the Neighborhood Council (or Neighborhood Crime Prevention Council) for your beat, check the Neighborhood Councils page on the city web site, where you'll find a map of Neighborhood Councils and a Neighborhood Council meeting schedule.

The Greater Rockridge Neighborhood Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) will meet on Thursday, April 14, at 7:30 PM, in the Seneca Center multipurpose room, 6925 Chabot Road.  In addition to our usual presentation from the Community Resource Officers, our main speakers will be Police Services Manager Regina Harris and Communications Dispatcher Eugenia Oliver, from OPD's Communications Unit, sometimes called "Dispatch."  They'll discuss how the 911 system works, and will take questions.

New Meeting Location

The Rockridge Library is closed from April through June 2016 for remodeling.  The Seneca Center has kindly allowed the NCPC to meet in their facilities.  The Seneca Center driveway exits left off Chabot Road - drive up Chabot past the elementary school, the sports fields, and the tennis courts, and turn left into the driveway opposite Golden Gate Avenue.  The driveway is marked.  Bear right as you drive up to get to the Seneca Center’s parking area, which holds about 40 vehicles.

Please note:  if you have mobility issues, please come early enough to park in the lot.  The building is fully accessible only if you park in the lot; overflow parking on Chabot Road means climbing a long, steep stair.
