August 2010 12Y/13X OPD Priorities

To suggest a new priority for either 12Y or 13X, email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

With the layoff of 80 police officers in July 2010, and the disbanding of the Problem Solving Officer unit, we no longer have a formal method of presenting beat "priorities" to the police as was organized under Measure Y. Also, with the disbanding of the Traffic unit, there will be no traffic priorities for the foreseeable future.  The priorities below were the last formal priorities, submitted in June 2010.

We still, of course, have things we'd like them to look into.  Please CONTINUE TO CALL THE POLICE if you see a crime in progress, or if a suspicious person is casing your neighborhood!  Remember, if you don't call it in, it never happened. And if you have serious ongoing problems - a drug house, a pattern of burglaries or robberies - please bring them to the NCPC and we'll do our best to bring them to OPD's attention.

Priorities (three allowed per Beat per month, any combination)

If your issue becomes a priority, please attend the next meeting to give an update and to advise if it should remain a priority.

Beat 12Y

  1. Suspected drug house at 5129 Manila
  2. Employees of “Nude Sushi” (6228 Telegraph) making noise in parking lot behind restaurant between midnight and 3 AM.

 Beat 13X

  1. Noise issues from the Rockridge Center Safeway parking lot affecting the neighborhood just above it:  possibly illegal auto mechanic every Sunday evening in the parking lot, Jamba Juice late-night deliveries, Starbucks power washing their outside café area after 10PM.

Traffic Priority - 12Y (one traffic priority per Beat)

  1. People aren't stopping at the stop sign at the top of Keith, which interferes with traffic leaving the freeway.

Traffic Priority – 13X (one traffic priority per Beat)

  1. None this month.
