Report a crimeIf you see a crime in progress, call the police!

Only call 911 from a land line!

From a cell phone call 777-3211 which routes directly to OPD dispatch. 

For MEDICAL OR FIRE EMERGENCIES ONLY, you can call the Fire Department directly at 510-444-1616.

To report a crime that has already happened, call the non-emergency number 777-3333, or fill in OPD's Online Crime Reporting form.  You'll find the link on their Report a Crime page.

Next NCPC Meeting

The Greater Rockridge NCPC meets on the 2nd Thursday of even numbered months:  February, April, June, August, October, and December. 

Our next meeting is on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 7:00 PM.  We expect it will be a Zoom meeting but we don't have the link yet.  Our speaker will be Captain Robert Rosin from Oakland Police, who will discuss issues of fireworks in the neighborhood.

To learn what police beat you're in, check the Police District Locator.  Enter your address and the map will show:

  • what policing area you're in,
  • what beat you're in,
  • the name and meeting address of the local NCPC,
  • dates and times of the meetings,
  • the name and email of the Neighborhood Services Coordinator (NSC)
  • an address where you can reach your beat's Community Resource Officer (CRO)

 

Crime Report at April 2016 Meeting

At the April 2016 meeting of the Greater Rockridge Neighborhood Crime Prevention Council, our Community Resource Officer, Anthony Hutzol, did a short presentation with definitions of some commonly misunderstood terms, status of some homeless issues, and an evaluation of crime trends in Oakland's District 2 (North Oakland) over the last 3 years, emphasizing trends in robbery and aggravated assault, plus burglary and grand theft.  Read the presentation yourself at this link:
