Only call 911 from a land line!

From a cell phone call 777-3211 which routes directly to OPD dispatch. 

For MEDICAL OR FIRE EMERGENCIES ONLY, you can call the Fire Department directly at 510-444-1616.

To report a crime that has already happened, call the non-emergency number 777-3333, or fill in OPD's Online Crime Reporting form.  You'll find the link on their Report a Crime page.

Oral Board Community Member Assessors Needed August 3, 2021.

Oakland Police will interview potential police officer trainees on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 in person (with COVID-19 safety precautions) at 150 Frank Ogawa Plaza.There will also be ONE virtual panel for those interested. The Recruiting and Background Investigations Unit is seeking community members to participate in the upcoming oral board panels for the recruitment of the Police Officer Trainee position. Please look at your schedules and determine if you can help with the process. We absolutely need and appreciate you!

The oral boards will be back in person at 150 Frank Ogawa Plaza. The interviews will be face to face with COVID-19 safety precautions in place. The boards will consist of a sworn member, a civilian employee, and a community member. On the day of, there will be an assessor training prior to the oral boards. The oral board will take place on the following date:

Tuesday, August 3, 2021, 8:30 – 5:00 PM (Frank Ogawa Plaza)

We will also have ONE virtual panel. If you are interested in being on the virtual panel, please let me know. The training for this panel will take place Monday, August 2, 2021. The virtual board will also be Tuesday, August 3, 2021,
