Only call 911 from a land line!

From a cell phone call 777-3211 which routes directly to OPD dispatch. 

For MEDICAL OR FIRE EMERGENCIES ONLY, you can call the Fire Department directly at 510-444-1616.

To report a crime that has already happened, call the non-emergency number 777-3333, or fill in OPD's Online Crime Reporting form.  You'll find the link on their Report a Crime page.

Next NCPC Meeting

The Greater Rockridge NCPC meets on the 2nd Thursday of even numbered months:  February, April, June, August, October, and December. 

Our next meeting is on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 7:00 PM.  We expect it will be a Zoom meeting but we don't have the link yet.  Our speaker will be Captain Robert Rosin from Oakland Police, who will discuss issues of fireworks in the neighborhood.

To learn what police beat you're in, check the Police District Locator.  Enter your address and the map will show:

  • what policing area you're in,
  • what beat you're in,
  • the name and meeting address of the local NCPC,
  • dates and times of the meetings,
  • the name and email of the Neighborhood Services Coordinator (NSC)
  • an address where you can reach your beat's Community Resource Officer (CRO)

Next NCPC Meeting is Thursday, August 11

Join the Greater Rockridge Neighborhood Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) at our free bi-monthly August meeting. Meet your Community Resource Officers, hear their report on neighborhood crime and public safety. In August you'll also:

  •     Meet Acting Captain Randy Wingate, the new commander for OPD's Area 2, who will address the meeting briefly
  •     Hear a presentation from Restorative Justice for Oakland Youth on "Building Alternatives to Youth Incarceration"

If enough people show up, we will vote whether to install a new Treasurer for the NCPC - Eric Neville has volunteered to serve.  We'll need 15 people to hold the vote.

The meeting is at 7:30 PM, Thursday, August 11, in the Rockridge Library.

Alcoholic Beverage License Applications June 3, 2016

Check our page on Alcoholic Beverage License applications for links to a new application on College Avenue.  This application was filed on the date shown and is open for public comment or objection for the next 30 days, or longer if the license is pending.

Coffee with a Cop - April 16, 2016

Officer Anthony Hutzol, the Community Resource Officer (CRO) for beat 13, will be at Philz Coffee (6310 College Ave) on Saturday, April 16th between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM. He looks forward to seeing everyone there, to meet residents and chat about the neighborhood in an informal setting.  Save the date! 

Beat 13 is Rockridge between Telegraph Avenue and Highway 13, north of 51st/Pleasant Valley Road.
