No crime stats this month

I downloaded the database on April 5 as usual. There are still no entries for crimes reported anywhere in Oakland, after February 7. There are 11 records at the bottom which are clearly errors – the dates haven’t happened yet. Last month may indeed have been the last crime stats. I’ll keep checking, but I have no idea what might happen.
The last crime statistic?

Crime Stats January 2023 (revised): https://tinyurl.com/mtc83dhh
I've been compiling and producing crime statistics from the city of Oakland's data feed for over 10 years. But the revised January 2023 report I just published may be the last, unless Oakland's IT department passes a miracle. You may have read of the ransomware attack on Oakland's data systems on February 8. When I pulled the 90-day list of reported crimes in Oakland from the city data feed on March 3, there was nothing in it after February 7, for any beat anywhere in the city. And I don't know when there will ever be more in it.
The sad thing is that the January revision indicated that the data delays we've seen since mid-2021 seem to be improving - between the 2 beats, 12Y and 13X, the revised report only had 9 crime reports that weren't in the original January report pulled on February 5, and the general pattern was very similar to what we've seen - a few crimes against the person, but mostly property crimes, the vast majority auto-related.
I tried to produce a report for February 2023 but there was nothing to work with. There were no reports for beat 13X at all, and only 16 reports for beat 12Y, with nothing after February 6. The general pattern of the 16 reports matched usual activity, as I said about the revised January report. But as far as I can tell now, the data is Gone. I will keep trying, but I have very little hope.

The February 2023 minutes of the Greater Rockridge Neighborhood Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) are now available online. They are available on the NCPC web site, on the page at this link:

This was our first hybrid meeting, with 2 residents and 3 NCPC officers present in person, and about 5 people attending on Zoom, including 2 officers from OPD. We used a Meeting Owl 3, loaned by Neighborhood Services, for the meeting. The meeting lasted about 40 minutes and had some very energetic discussions (both in the room and on Zoom) of a perceived lack of support from OPD in north Oakland.
