July’s revised numbers are just a little higher than the original tally, although reported crime in 13X increased from 15 items to 23. Property crimes, and especially auto-related property crimes, were the largest numbers as usual. In fact, I saw so many “COLLEGE AVE” in the car-related property crimes for July and August that I did a little data analysis. In 2024, the percentage of auto-related property crimes (car burglaries and vehicle thefts) which happened on College Avenue ranged between 35% and 44% of the total, with 2 exceptions: in January the percentage was 51.3% (19 out of 37), and in February it was 4.6 (2 out of 44). In other words, in general somewhat under half of auto-related property crimes in Rockridge this year happened on College Avenue.
We had some crimes against the person, but never more than 5 or 10 in either month. Quality of life crimes (usually vandalism) weren’t unusually high, even in 12Y. Total numbers are in the documents.
