The revised report for November this year was quite startling – when I first did November, in early December, 12Y had 48 reports and 13X had 13. This was well within the range we’ve been seeing. When I did November again, in early January, beat 12Y had 109 reports! 13X had 13, which isn’t out of line. The 12Y number is mostly property crime, 26 reports in general property crime and 55 in auto-related property crime. If your car was bipped on College Avenue in November, you aren’t alone. 12Y in November also had more than usual vandalism charges, 18 when the average is around 7.
The numbers for December are much closer to recent norms, 12Y had 63 total (16 general property crime and 31 auto related).
What I am seeing that bothers me is more crimes against the person – 12Y in November had a report of rape, the first one I’ve ever seen doing this, plus multiple battery charges; and multiple battery charges in December as well. Be safe out there.
