We currently maintain crime statistics in Excel, once a month.  See the list of links to Recent Crime Statistics on the right for data from 2015 onward.

The classes of crimes we use were invented by the NCPC to make things clearer than just using Penal Code sections.  Here is a general explanation of the classes:

a - Crimes against the person.  These are the big crimes:  Homicide, Assault (including threats), Battery, Robbery, Armed robbery, Domestic violence.

b - Property crimes.  Theft, burglary, shoplifting

c - Auto-related property crimes.  Vehicle theft, car break-ins, car burglaries

d - Quality of life crimes.  Vandalism, graffiti, public drunkenness

Classes e and f are quite rare. Class e (Other) is occasionally used for a failure to comply with a court order.  Class f (Pandemic related) has only had 1 instance since the pandemic started.

- Crime Maps - We haven't maintained crime maps since 2013, but this page has links to historical crime maps of the beats.
